This latest investment follows Bachchan's earlier purchases in Ayodhya, including a 10,000 sq ft plot in The Sarayu for ₹14.5 crore in 2024. Reports also suggest that he acquired a 54,454 sq ft plot in March 2025, potentially for a memorial dedicated to his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Additionally, Bachchan had previously invested in a 5,372 sq ft plot in Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore and a 10,000 sq ft land parcel in Alibaug for ₹10 crore from HoABL.
Ayodhya's Real Estate Boom
Ayodhya's real estate market is experiencing significant growth, driven by infrastructure development and increasing interest in spiritual tourism and long-term investment. According to a report by Liases Foras, land prices in the city have grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19%, with projections suggesting this could reach 25% by 2035.
The report attributes this growth to large-scale projects, including the expansion of the international airport, improved road and rail connectivity, and the construction of the Ram Mandir. Land values in key areas have appreciated by more than 4.5 times between 2020 and 2025.
